Chained in Backrooms Guides & Walkthroughs
Co-op tips, level routes, and survival advice for Roblox Chained in Backrooms.
Welcome to the Guides Hub for Chained in Backrooms, the free Roblox co-op obby horror experience by Musta and Alexander. Since launch on 21 April 2025, the place has passed 110M+ visits by chaining up to eight players together through mazes, parkour, boss fights, and liminal puzzle rooms. This hub is the map of every how-to page on the wiki—use it when you need a beginner route, a full Chapter 1 clear, room bosses like Hot Potato / Glass Bridge / Arcade, or Chapter 2 ending notes. Before any serious queue, run the Team Checklist so roles, mics, and freebies are locked instead of discovering chaos mid-Maze.
Start here if you are new
Most wipeouts come from bad party size, silent teammates, or skipping the free group reward. Read Getting Started first: how to claim the join-group / like / favorite gift, how to pick a party of friends who can talk, and what the first hour should look like. Then skim Controls so Pull, crouch, sprint, and interact feel natural before the chain starts yanking you off platforms.
If you already know the lobby and keep dying to physics, jump straight to Chain Mechanics. That guide explains why sprinting alone fails, when to use Pull to rescue a fallen teammate, and how to move as one rope through Tower Obby and Glass Bridge. Treat those three pages as mandatory homework; the walkthrough alone will not save a mute public lobby that never practiced Pull.
Full clears and chapter routes
For a zone-by-zone path through Chapter 1—Escape the Maze, The Obby, Red Light Green Light, Tower Obby, Arcade, Glass Bridge, Boss Fight, The Train, Rocks & Flowers, Boss Battle, Simon Says, Going Home / Destiny / Piano—open the Walkthrough. Keep voice chat or text callouts ready; many rooms fail when one player rushes while another is still interacting. Mark which subsection wiped you so the next attempt starts with a shorter brief instead of a full reread.
Chapter 2 continues in the research facility with color sequences, lava lanes, and lever puzzles. When you reach the destiny vote, Chapter 2 Good Ending and the dedicated Endings guide cover green vs red Destiny, Simon Says before the vote, the piano epilogue, badge progress such as Landspace’s Dust (Level 2), and how to finish cleanly after Chapter 1. Take a short break between chapters—fatigue causes more bad votes and missed colors than skill gaps.
Specialty room guides (mid Chapter 1 pain points)
When the HUD names a single nightmare room, open the focused child page instead of rereading the entire Walkthrough:
- Hot Potato — bomb pass, sacrifice opens the wall/door, Pull dead teammates, party-size tips.
- Glass Bridge — Squid Game–style panels, scout vs chain yank, spacing, body recovery.
- Arcade — find the outlined cabinet, mouse aim (not WASD), park the rope, first clear unlocks.
- Endings — Destiny green = good / red = bad, Simon Says, piano epilogue.
Clear Hot Potato with your bridge scout still alive, freeze the chain for Arcade, then treat Glass Bridge as a patience exam. Those three rooms cause more Discord arguments than any boss telegraph.
Survive threats and stay coordinated
Creatures and chase segments punish split formations. Survive Creatures covers listening for audio cues, using crouch/hide windows, and deciding when the party should sacrifice spacing versus sticking in a tight cluster. Pair that page with chain tips so you never leave one player dangling as bait by accident. When chase pressure stacks on platforming, assign Back to call rear threats while Front owns the route—see Team Roles if your group still argues mid-run.
Live-run habits that cut wipe rates
Beyond reading guides, successful parties share habits you can copy tonight:
- Warm up on Escape the Maze and The Obby before Tower Obby or Glass Bridge; cold starts inflate early resets.
- Speak in short calls (“hold,” “pull now,” “I take key”) instead of long stories while the rope is taut.
- Cap meme volume during Simon Says, Boss Fight, Hot Potato, Arcade, and Glass Bridge; jokes resume in lobby.
- After three identical wipes on one mechanic, swap Front or re-open that specialty guide / Walkthrough section—pride is expensive.
- Prefer a stable friend party of four to six over a chaotic eight-stack until chain etiquette is automatic.
- Recheck Codes only after patches; there are no active promo codes as of September 2026, so prioritize the group reward.

How to use these guides in a live run
- Run the Team Checklist aloud once before leaving lobby.
- Assign one caller who reads the next objective aloud.
- Keep the chain short on precision jumps; stretch only when the map forces it.
- Practice Pull before Hot Potato and Glass Bridge so fallen players can be yanked back up.
- After each wipe, note which zone failed—then reopen that Walkthrough section or the matching specialty guide.
- After Chapter 1 complete, restock patience before Chapter 2 puzzles; they reward observation more than speed.
- If the place just updated, skim September 2026 Update / Launch Notes and retest one hard room before inventing a new meta.
Bookmark this hub, share it with your party before queue, and rotate through the child guides below as you progress. Fresh players should finish Getting Started, Controls, and the Team Checklist the same evening they join the Musta and Alexander group for the free reward. Veterans can treat the Walkthrough, specialty rooms, and Chapter 2 / Endings pages as callout sheets during stream or Discord nights.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Which guide should I read first?
Start with Getting Started, then Controls and Chain Mechanics. Open the Walkthrough only when your party is ready for a full Chapter 1 attempt.
Does Chained in Backrooms support solo play?
Yes—you can queue with one player—but most missions are designed for coordinated groups up to eight. Solo runs are slower and less forgiving on pull-dependent rooms.
Where do I find Chapter 2 and endings help?
Use the Chapter 2 guide for facility puzzles and the Endings guide for Destiny green/red, Simon Says, and the piano epilogue.
Which pages cover Hot Potato, Glass Bridge, and Arcade?
Open the Hot Potato, Glass Bridge, and Arcade child guides linked from this hub for bomb sacrifice, panel scouting, and cabinet mouse-aim tips.
Are there active promo codes?
There are no active redeem codes as of September 2026. Check the Codes hub after updates, and claim the free group like/favorite reward instead.
What badges appear early?
Common early badges include Tragectory Welcomers, You joined the backrooms, and Landspace's Dust (Level 2). See the Badges guide under Players for more.
